The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) is a third-party organization founded in 2001 to promoting indoor air quality issues. One aspect of GEI's mission is to provide performance-based standards for manufacturing goods for indoor use. These standards define the chemical and particle emission thresholds for goods such as building materials, furniture, cleaning products, and electronics equipment, among other categories. In its manufacturing processes, Julian Swain Builders uses many building materials and contact adhesives that meet the GREENGUARD standards as well as Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) standards of various environmental organizations. |
